After a rather fab New Year spent amongst a few of my closest friends, I’ve finally recovered enough to actually be productive! So, here’s to remembering the highs & lows of 2013..
Here is my initial 2013 post of Resolutions, which I’ll update in the next post for 2014!
January started in The Meadows watching the fireworks with a group of fab people.
I wrote about my resolutions for 2013 (here) and completed all of them except going abroad once that year!
Fashion for SS13 was on my mind.. I raved about my ultimate favourite REN Radiance Range in a guest post for PURE Spa.. & I looked on to celebrate 4 years of The Likely Lady!
This was the most challenging month of 2013, and featured a bit of heartbreak which cast a shadow over the rest of the year in my personal life. However, I took steps towards battling anxiety & finally took control of my life!
I started a project working alongside the National Museum of Scotland, marketing a mobile app game.
I wrote about Mulberry AW13 ♥ and started my Pinspiration series on the blog; using my Pinterest obsession productively..
March featured some of the most amazing dates ever with a guy who made me remember how deserving I am & to always be treated like a lady! Romance alert: He used clues to make me guess the venue of our first date & I had to hope we showed up at the same place.. we did!
I was still getting better & recovering from anxiety, but the month was feeling much more positive than February.
I travelled down to Sheffield to stay with my best friend whilst she was at Uni, and we enjoyed rolling about in our onesies, drinking tea, eating fajitas & cake and playing zombie games (haha). It was so much fun & cheered me up a lot!
I also wrote my very first WIWT post over Easter, introduced everyone to my long-term love – the Hydraluron serum (!!!) & wrote a really cheerful Pinspiration post.
Pizza Express Open Evening
May was the month I got a 1st in my project at Uni with the National Museum of Scotland! A slightly nerve-wracking 1 hour board-room presentation and a big ol’ report later, and we were a pretty happy team.
I also finally attended my first official (and unofficial) blogger events.. I went to the Harvey Nichols/Grazia Beauty Parlour in Edinburgh with Lynsey & Roisin!
Then, I met Gillian for the first time at the Pizza Express launch in Morningside, Edinburgh. A few glasses of wine later and we were chatting rubbish & bonding over blogging chat!
Spa in the City Edinburgh was an event I’d been meaning to attend for ages, so I went with my flatmate & had an Origins facial from the John Lewis Edinburgh team.
June was all about becoming a committed blogger, getting my dream summer job as a full-time Digital Marketing Intern at PURE Spa & writing up lots of beauty reviews. It was also the month of sun-burn & many picnics in the park!
I attended the Benefit ‘Stay Flawless’ launch at Hemma Bar, Edinburgh (& met Iona and Lynne). This was definitely my favourite event of the year.
Sunset from the rooftop of The George Hotel
July was in full swing, career-wise! I was in the midst of a full-time job; juggling new-found blogger friendships and attending lots of events. This was the month which best reflected how I’d like my life to be!
We also ate A LOT of cupcakes at work..
I went to Tempus at the George Hotel for their menu launch (and spent an evening watching the sunset from a roof-top suite sipping champagne!)

Us Scottish Bloggers went to Lynsey’s Scottish Blogger Meet Up at Horton’s Bar, Glasgow!
Me & the girls went to the Edinburgh Fashion Week Opening Gala with Clements Ribeiro.

I took my mum to Edinburgh Zoo to see the pandas for her birthday in the beaming sunshine!
August was so busy that I only posted ONCE (!) that month.
I attended the Appointedd launch at Hotel Missoni & met one of my favourite ladies; the founder Leah Hutcheon.
I JOINED THE GYM (!!) for the first time.
I had a funny night out with my pals Kirsty & Iona..
Me & my work-mate James attended the Condé Nast photography exhibition at the City Art Centre.
I ate an amaaazing meal for my dad’s birthday. Camembert starter & steak main? Yes.
Two flatmates’ birthdays (one got Bibi’s Bakery cupcakes!)
I went on a health kick with home-made smoothies.
I bought my first pair of Bebaroque tights!!
I wrote an ‘Easy Peasy At-Home Manicure’.
Pout Event 2013
September was the month I started my final year at Uni & started interning with Appointedd on their digital marketing.
I was invited to review Odyssey Boutique in Edinburgh in aid of the launch of The Pout Event; which I also attended that month and had a fab time!
I volunteered as a runner at Scotland Re:Designed’s fashion show.
I also had a weekend away to Stirling for Iona’s Musical themed 21st birthday.
I attended the launch of the Mallzee fashion iPhone app with the wonderful team who I shared an office with at Appointedd.
We had a cheeky night out in Glasgow!
I also wrote about my love of Mimi Holliday (after a cheeky purchase at the Boutique..) & reviewed Revlon for Marchesa.
New Blog Layout by Gillian
October was the month of a *new* blog layout designed by Gillian, attending Vintage Nation & lots of beauty fun.
I got my hair pin-curled by the Miss Dixiebelle ladies!
I modelled for lash extensions at All About Eve (which have only just fully came out this January!).
We attended the launch of the PURE Spa Christmas campaign (was weird going back without working haha!) & I received a fabulous Indian Head Massage at their Ocean Terminal branch, which I really loved.
I won tickets to BBC Good Food Show at Glasgow SECC!
Halloween at Gillian’s where I ended up being a cat.
We had Italian feasts at Zizzi Ocean Terminal & Prezzo North Bridge, as well as menu launches at The West Port & The Hope.
November was my BIRTHDAY MONTH & I turned 22 with one of my favourite birthdays to date at a Revolution Bar cocktail masterclass & a meal at Monteiths restaurant, alongside a visit from my best friend for a week!
I learned all about coffee with Nespresso..
I spent a weekend away with the Scottish Blogger ladies in the Highlands in our own cottage; SO GOOD!
‘5 Ways to Rid Yourself of the Winter Blues’ was a popular wee post, as well as ‘You Have As Many Hours in a Day as Beyoncé’.
I launched my ‘Get Fit, Get Healthy’ project on the blog & reviewed my wonderful new OnePiece onesie (with an exclusive discount for my readers).
December was typically festive, with lots of festive fun, a Christmas Mixtape, Wishlist & New Year’s Eve inspiration..
I went to my friend Lianne’s engagement party & danced the night away, fuelled by mulled wine.
I visited the Christmas Market lots & Gillian made a vlog..
We all went to the Scottish Bloggers’ Christmas Party & I won an afternoon tea at The Corinthian (to be reviewed…)
I spent Christmas at home with my wonderful family.. & danced into 2014 alongside some of my closest friends at Kirsty’s party! Lots of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ renditions!
…PHEW! That was an epic one. I’m glad I’ve made myself write it all out so I can look back on it in the future & smile at how far I came in 2013.
