I’ve written a few times on here about the little things making me smile, and they’re always the most enjoyable posts to write (and read – Sophie Cliff’s weekly round-up posts of the things she’s enjoyed most are something I love seeing on my Bloglovin feed). So, I’m back on it with a new regular series I’m making a part of my schedule.
Here’s to the things making us all smile this week – let me know what yours are in the comments below.
Meeting my baby niece Isobel
I met my wee baby niece for the first time last weekend and it was pretty lovely. After being hugely nervous about holding a newborn (I’d only ever held a 6 month old), it turns out it’s less terrifying than I thought. She’s so perfect – baby cuddles are the best way to spend any weekend!
Trying out Flat Iron for steak
I had a rather mahoosive list of places to visit on our day out in Covent Garden last Sunday, and near the top was a trip to Flat Iron for steak. Guys, it did not disappoint. We paired our flat steaks with beef dripping chips and creamed spinach – delicious. The best part was the surprise free ice cream cone on your way out (ours was salted caramel). Go visit, Londoners and non-Londoners alike!
Finally purchasing The Ordinary’s skincare products
As part of our mad dash around Covent Garden, I popped into the manic DECIEM store for my first dose of The Ordinary skincare. I’ve previously owned a primer by them, but never the actual topical skincare products. I’ve picked up a bottle of the AHA/BHA Peeling Solution (the one in the vampire blood looking bottle) and the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution (my skin always laps that ingredient up). We shall see how it all fares with my skin type…
Lovely comments on my blog relaunch
I was a wee bit nervous to come back into the blogosphere (is that still a term, people? Help a girl out) but it turns out I didn’t need to worry. I’ve had a lovely response, and I feel excited for this fresh new chapter!
Upcoming holiday planning
Next month, we’re visiting Amsterdam for the first time, and I have a huuuuuge Evernote list filled to the brim with places to visit. I spent probably an hour getting recommendations from my colleague last month, so it’s all v v exciting. Hit me up with any recommendations you have!
Until next time, xoxo
